RESIDENTIAL CARE HOME FOR 55+

Millbrook Care Home is a purpose-built residential care home located in Blackwood, Caerphilly. Originally opened in 1996 with 28 bedrooms, the home has continued to grow to meet the needs of the local community, expanding in 2015 and again in 2024 to provide accommodation for up to 50 residents.

We provide residential and EMI residential care for adults aged 55 and over, supporting each resident with compassion, dignity and respect. Our approach is centred around the individual, recognising that every resident has their own preferences, routines, interests and care needs.

At Millbrook, we strive to create a genuine home-from-home environment where residents feel comfortable, valued and supported. Families often describe the atmosphere as warm, welcoming and friendly, and we work hard to ensure every resident can continue to enjoy a fulfilling and meaningful lifestyle.


Our experienced team includes long-serving managers and care professionals, many of whom have dedicated decades to supporting older people. Millbrook is led by Claire Porter, who has been Home Manager for over 25 years. With a background in nursing and decades of experience in care, Claire is dedicated to ensuring residents receive the highest standards of support in a warm, welcoming and compassionate environment.

Millbrook has strong links with the local community and is proud to be included on the preferred provider list for Caerphilly County Borough Council. We regularly welcome visits from local schools, churches and community groups, while also supporting local charities and events throughout the year.
